This Sunday, August 28, is the Sabbath Day Point Race the Corinthian’s second long-distance race of the season. Shorter than June’s Ti Race,, but you’ll still get the opportunity to sail through the Narrows and the Mother Bunch to the turning mark at Sabbath Day Point, just north of (and across the lake from) Huletts Landing. Because of the length of the race the committee boat will be on station at 9am for a 9:30 start. Both start and finish are planned to be at Hogback Reef. Take your own time and report to the Committee Boat as soon as possible via Chanel 66 or 796-4907. The current forecast puts Hurricane Irene hitting southern New Jersey on Sunday afternoon, so with luck we’ll get enough breeze for a good race, but in the event that Irene proves more threatening the race will be shortened.
UPDATE: With Irene making a strong appearance at the lake, Race 4 will be rescheduled for Sept. 4, 9:30 start.
